"We heard the very first “FamilyLife Today” radio broadcast in 1992 and were immediately hooked. Six months later we attended our first conference, and six months after that returned to yet another conference with 25 couples from our church. Having worked with couples and taught HomeBuilders Sunday school classes in our church, we saw firsthand the devastating effects of Satan’s’ attack on the family.
“But why in the world would God use us?” What does a financial advisor and corporate executive know about ministering full-time to families? God used Amos 7:14 and Jonah 2:8 to show us that He can use anyone-if they will obey His call. Now that we’re actually on staff, we cannot imagine life anywhere else. Nothing compares to being in the center of God’s will, even if it means giving up everything we held dear and moving to Arkansas."
Rich and his wife, Mary, are missionary staff members of Campus Crusade for Christ (our parent organization). They moved to Arkansas with their three children to reach families for Christ.
FamilyLife's team of Campus Crusade staff members (missionary staff) and paid staff form a unique blend of people who want to make an eternal difference. Missionary staff raise their own funds for salary and benefits and move to Little Rock to serve God. Married couples serve together at FamilyLife as staff members of Campus Crusade for Christ.
Missionary staff members Scott and Lora say that they have seen God's hand on their lives. "It has been by far the most life-changing and precious time for us as a family," Scott says. "We are in awe of God's goodness through our support team and this ministry as we now have the privilege of serving Him here."
Beverly, a native of Little Rock, has worked at FamilyLife as a paid staff member since 1985. She has served in various capacities including an administrative assistant and manager of word processing and data entry. Beverly says, "I came to FamilyLife because I wanted a job that would make a difference in the lives of people. ... So ... here I am 20 years later."
Whether on missionary staff or paid staff, everyone on the FamilyLife team is an integral part of ministry. Missionary staff generally give leadership to our FamilyLife Conferences, arena events, and various internal departments.
As our ministry continues to expand its outreach, additional staff will be needed. FamilyLife has opportunities for men and women who have a passion for the family—people who want to make a difference in our culture. God is blessing FamilyLife with tremendous growth, and we are praying Matthew 9:37-38:
The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field.
Could God be calling you to FamilyLife? We sure hope so!
